This is, more or less, the direction I want to go in. Criminalizing the rampant selling off of our resources and, by extension, our natural environment, en masse. And it ties in with the investigation I requested of the International Criminal Court in The Hague into Crimes Against Humanity, etc. by the fossil fuel industry. Essentially, Professor Livermore is calling out our government for being short sighted and reckless. I couldn’t agree more.
In his 3 minute interview/segment with EENews, Professor Michael Livermore from the University of Virginia Law School discusses his case before the D.C. courts in which he states that the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (part of the Department of the Interior) is illegally and hastily issuing leases to drill for oil in risky offshore areas, such as the Gulf of Mexico and the Arctic. Of course, I would argue that ALL places are risky as we are rapidly reaching every possible tipping point from which there can be no retreat.
Again, it’s just three minutes. Please watch.
